JOHN GASH 1797-1855

John Gash was baptised at Nocton, Lincolnshire on 3rd October 1797 - son of William and Elizabeth Gash.  His younger brother, David Gash, was my 2 x Great Grandfather.

I believe this is David's brother, born Nocton 1797 and living in Welbourne, Lincolnshire - shown in the 1841 Census:

IGI has a marriage for John Gash and Mary East in Osbournby, Lincs on 24 May 1819.

David Gash's brother John had died and his widow, Mary was a visitor at 1 Depot Cottage, St Mary le Wigford, Lincoln, at the home of her daughter, Elizabeth - shown here in the 1861 Census:

Charles Wm East, the 2nd apprentice might be a relative of Mary Gash** (formerly East).     Osingbey should be Osbournby, according to the Genuki for Lincolnshire website, the name of Osbournby is pronounced "Ozonby or "Ossenby" by locals
